How to Motivate Others by Brendon Burchard
Brendon Burchard is a NYT Bestselling author and motivational speaker that is always offering up great tangible and doable advice for the everyday person and those in leadership positions.
This video shares some great tips. Here are some of our favorites:
- Get to know others. Ask genuine questions; ask questions for them, not you.
- People who lack competency lack confidence (and, therefore, lack motivation). Empower people with knowledge and skills. Give them the know-how.
- Celebrate the effort. Don’t just await the outcome.
- Be the role model. Be open about your journey, your “whys.” Your sharing can be their spark!
The best takeaway? These 5 words: People support what they create.

The Real Way To Cultivate Leadership With Doug Gray on the As Told by Nomads Podcast by Tayo Rockson
We relate to this episode for a lot of reasons! APT measures a clinic’s success with a set of defined metrics, so the discussion surrounding tracking accountability and transparency and measuring objectives and key results (OKRs) are very relevant to some of our new management initiatives.
Additionally, building strengths among departments is a key approach for APT. The OKR Leadership style helps creates bridge gaps between departments, leading to improved communications and increased efficiencies.

Be a Schedule Builder, Not a To-Do List Maker by Nir and Far
We all know what it is like to have a big, long to-do list looming over us on a daily basis. Some of these to-do items are as simple as, “Call back applicant” or “Order more hand sanitizer,” while others can be a bit more complex: “Write employee handbook” or “Brainstorm new website design.”
To-do lists are great at keeping track of things we need to do but not necessarily helpful in prioritizing when and how things should be done.
“Planning in advance how you intend to spend your time is the only way to know the difference between traction (what you said you would do) and distraction (anything else).”
This interesting perspective offers some new ideas on how to plan work and spend time. Have you ever heard of “implementation intention” or “timeboxing?” We hadn’t either until we read this blog post! Read on for more!
